My Story

I’m Kym Hoffman,  and I empower moms to realize just how unique they are for their child.

 I believe:

As moms connect with their babies on a physical (out) level through infant massage, they are able to connect with their babies on an emotional (inside) level. As moms become more confident in their ability to calm, soothe and connect with their baby, they are able to connect to the power within themselves which shows on the outside.

Hey there, mama. I’m so glad you’re here!

Whether you are a foster/adopt mom or have struggled with infertility. A mom of multiples or have a disability. Or maybe your baby has been hospitalized and/or your struggling with postpartum depression. No matter how you became a mom you are a good mom. So why are you feeling disconnected or overwhelmed? Whether this is your 1st or 5th baby let’s explore some ways how I can help.

I totally get it, and you, sweet mama, are not alone. I get it on multiple levels! Often the unsolicited advice you get from family members, parenting books, mom blogs, or social media posts can feel overwhelming. Being a mom can be hard. Having the right resources to help support you and your baby is so important. And you are in the right place to receive the support you need.

Imagine if something as simple as human touch connected you and your baby for life in a way you have only imagined.

Let me introduce myself a little more so when you hear me say, “I GET IT,” you know I do!

So who am I?

I am a foster/adopt mom of twins who has a disability that struggles with infertility and anxiety. Legit!

So why am I qualified to teach infant massage?

I am a certified child life specialist (CCLS) and certified educator of infant massage (CEIM). I bring a developmental approach to my training sessions as a 13-year master’s level clinician. I have experience working with patients and families in hospital and academic settings. My most relevant experience includes work on an infant/toddler unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and pediatric emergency room.

I have used my infant massage training as a clinician to empower moms with babies that were Failure to Thrive (FTT), and have taught parenting classes in the NICU about reading infants’ cues, positive touch and and how to play with with their baby in a developmentally appropriate way. I have used my training to help soothe infants in the ER during shots, blood draws and more.

And sure, that’s all the clinical stuff, but this is why I really get it and why I am so passionate about helping you.

Years ago, my husband and I had a miscarriage while I was in grad school studying to become a child life specialist. We officially started our foster/adopt journey after moving to SC. It was there that I became certified to teach infant massage to parents. My husband and I fostered many babies and toddlers who struggled with drug withdrawal, neglect, failure to thrive and more. Infant massage was a skill I used and was able to teach my husband so he too could massage the babies in our home.

We discovered just how important infant massage continued to be for our newly adopted twins. It was not only great for attachment and bonding but for some sensory issues and eventual support with their diagnosis of ADHD and anxiety they have about needles as they grew.

So as a clinician AND a mom I get it, and I am uniquely suited to help you learn these invaluable skills to connect with your baby.

I’m here to support you every step of the way. Let’s get started.
